To celebrate the end of yet another successful season, Callander Thistle marked the occasion with an awards ceremony at AMF Bowling in Stirling.
It was a hugely successful night and everyone involved, including parents and coaches, had lots of fun.
All squad members who attended the night, split into groups and played two games of ten-pin bowling. After the games all were treated to a buffet, which was gratefully wolfed down and very much appreciated.
With the fun part of the night out of the way, the serious part commenced. The award ceremony was looming and there were excited faces everywhere. The age groups involved in the Awards were:Under 10s, Under 11s, Under 13s & Under 15s.
This was the time where all the hard work for the season paid off and players reaped their rewards.
The awards for all age groups were:
Players Player of the Year
The best and most consistent player of the season as voted for by members of the team.
Coaches Player of the Year
The best and most consistent player, as voted for by the coaches.
Man of the Match (Under 15s only)
The player who got most nominations. The ‘Man of the Match' of every game is voted by the opposition coaches.
Golden boot
Top scorer for the season.
Utility Player (Under 13s and 15s only)
The player to cover the most different positions in a season.
Most Improved Player
Player to show a significant improvement in attitude and performance.
Squad medals
Given to all team members.
Callander Thistle would like to thank everyone involved with the club for their sustained and significant contribution to another successful season.
We say farewell and thank you to two outstanding talents who, sadly, will not be at the club next season.
We wish Michael and Imo the best of luck at their new clubs next season.
